Golden Gate Farne Islands Boat Trips

Join the Farne Island’s Lighthouse attendant George, on a tour of Europe’s largest offshore bird sanctuary. Visit Longstone Lighthouse, made famous by the heroic exploits of the Lighthouse Keeper’s daughter, Grace Darling who with her Father rescued survivors from the shipwrecked Forfarshire during a raging storm in 1838.

If it’s wildlife that interests you, there is a colony of between 4,000 – 7,000 Atlantic or Grey Seals that live in the waters around the Farne Islands. The Islands are also home to 120,000 pairs of breeding birds, half of which are Puffins.

Why not combine this trip with either a Grace Darling Trail around the nearby village of Bamburgh (including the Castle) or a scenic coastal walk from the fishing village of Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle and Embleton Bay?
