One of the things Rob excels in is the ability to adapt a theme and turn it into an entertaining day out for students or families. With his love of Northumberland and local knowledge, having lived in the area most of his life, he is able to combine the history of Alnwick Castle (Hogwarts) with the magic of Harry Potter. Not an easy task, but Rob seems to pull it off with aplomb.

There is a reason why Lundgren Tours won the Silver Award for Guided Tour of the Year in last year’s North East Tourism Awards. We, his parents, support him operationally and with marketing, but Rob is very much the front man. Not only is he the Tour Guide but he is also responsible for selling his tours. He does this by building relationships with his customers at social events with social media support.
Rob is a perfectionist, loves to entertain and provide his customers with a great day out. He is not just a guide, he’s a performer and his main stage is Alnwick Castle, the filming location for the first 2 Harry Potter films. He makes sure no one feels left out, encourages student friendships and will even get you broomstick flying. At the same time, you’ll go away feeling you’ve learnt something about the castle’s fascinating history which is actually home to the current Duke and Duchess of Northumberland.

In addition to visiting the castle, Rob will take you to one of the largest Treehouses in Europe to experience some fun on a wobbly rope bridge followed by Barter Books which is a second-hand bookshop housed in a Victorian Railway Station. If this isn’t enough, he ends the tour at a shop in Alnwick’s Market Square where you’re able to sample shots of local Gin and Mead.
